Five Tables of Protest

Drop by our art study centers on Free First Thursdays and get an up-close view of some of the treasures of the BAMPFA collections, laid out on the five tables in the seminar area. Among the works on view this session: a vibrant array of protest posters from the late 1960s through the early twentieth-first century, including screen prints on computer paper made by UC Berkeley students protesting the Vietnam War; colorful calls to legalize marijuana and sever UC’s ties to nuclear weapons development; pleas for peace and gun control; and demands for affordable housing and the freedom of political prisoners. Space is limited, so there could be a short wait.
